It's an older shop, sure. One cannot judge a place on it's aesthetic appeal. That said, one can judge this place by the conditions in which it's animals are kept. Exotic birds (of varying size) kept in tiny quarters, as well as some of the larger lizards. And most importantly, a 4'-5' Caiman kept in what looked to be about a 6' tank. Try living in a 3'x3' glass room with no way out, and people gawking at you all day. If you even remotely care about animals, prepare to be seriously bummed out when you leave this joint. I normally don't visit pet stores for this very reason, but this place? Wow.
I have been going to this store for 4 years on and off but up until the last couple months I had only visited for snake food. My daughter has recently become interested in establishing her own aquarium and learning how to properly care for her own fish. We discovered that one of our newly acquired goldfish from the fair had fallen ill and our first instinct was to visit this store for advice. I am completely blown away by the kindness and compassion shown to us and our little sick friend. Jim was super quick to treat him and educated us on how to keep our tank healthy after our fish heals. We are truly grateful for the dedicated time and education we received during our visit. We will not go anywhere else for our future pet needs. Thank you! :)
